Trang Tran

Trang Tran is Vietnamese and have studied and lived in Sweden since 2009.

With 10 years of work in the development sector in Vietnam and Lao PDR she has developed her multidisciplinary expertise in project management, business and environmental management and strategic consultancy.

Trang has a track record ranging from strategic to operational level and with Vietnamese agencies and international development institutions. Among others are the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, the International Trade Center of the United Nations-World Trade Organization, the development and cooperation agency of Sweden (SIDA), Denmark (Danida), Japan (JICA) and Switzerland (SDC).

Trang joined Daxam in April 2012 as project coordinator and institutional capacity analyst.  She coordinates a multi-partner project financed by Sida (1 Million USD) to pilot a payment for ecosystem services (PES) in the Mekong delta in Vietnam. The project aims to test PES tool in combination with livelihood means (shrimp farming, eco-tourism, agroforestry) to improve wetland biodiversity and local community livelihood. As part of the same project, Trang analyses institutional capacity needs for the government regulatory agency to use PES in its policy making and monitoring of biodiversity.

Trang holds a master of business management (MBA) from Boise University in USA and a master of environmental management and economics with University of Gothenburg in Sweden. She speaks Vietnamese, English and Swedish.
